The following must never be the last chapter in our history:

We have been a free people, under God, since the 1400's; the oldest Democratic Republic this world has ever seen. Our unwillingness to accept the ugliness in our past, to correct domestic wrongs, to fight and die for other nations and people, to give of our great wealth in ways unmatched by competing nations, to push back against evil forces and persons who would rob us of our liberties is the collective conscience that drives this nation and sets US apart from others.
