Obama is losing the Catholic vote, despite "popular" misinformation to the contrary.

Has Obama succeeded in his "divide and conquer" strategy with regards to contraception and the Catholic Church?  The happy answer, to date,  is a resounding "no."

Understand that Obama took the Catholic vote by 54%, in 2008.  Scott Rasmussen,  the pollster of choice for Midknight Review,  just released this polling result:  59% of Catholics Disapprove of Obama's Job Performance.

Such represents a 13 point swing against Obama.

An election year indicator?  We certainly hope so.

Update:  from the Rasmussen Report,  we have this opening statement  (you will want to read the full article linked above):

Tuesday, February 14, 2012     Catholics strongly disapprove of the job President Obama is doing as the debate continues over his administration’s new policy forcing Catholic institutions to pay for contraception they morally oppose. While the president’s overall job approval ratings have improved over the past couple of months, they have remained steady among Catholics.
