Major Media Reports On Palin's "Fiery Speech" At RightOnline Conference Plus Video

Here are two of the first media reports on Sarah Palin's hard hitting and inspirational address to the conservative bloggers conference "Right Online"
They are remarkably free of the usual "I can see Russia" nonsense which shows that if you hit bullies hard they respect you. The usual morons show up in the comments section of the LAT-but what else would you expect.

LAS VEGAS -- It was a rousing pep talk for a ballroom full of conservative bloggers, and a tribute to a fallen compadre Friday evening, as Sarah Palin honored the memory of the late Internet entrepreneur Andrew Breitbart and told an annual gathering of conservative new media that they fill a vital role in the nation’s political discourse.
In some ways, Palin’s 35-minute speech was also a vintage performance, her sing-song voice rising and falling as she also castigated and mocked the “lamestream media,” accusing it of failing to vet then-candidate Barack Obama in 2008 and of promulgating rumors about her personal life, which still seem to get under her skin.“You do what the old media can’t or won’t do, and that’s tell the truth,” said Palin, who remains a hero of the tea-party right despite her withdrawal from the arena of electoral office. “I have learned in the last four years or so, it doesn’t do any good to personally complain about the untruths told by the old media. I might as well save my breath…. Shoot, by now I should have been divorced how many times?  Under FBI investigation. Living in the Hamptons. It still is a great mystery who really is Trig Paxon Van Palin’s real mother.”
Speaking in a ballroom of the Venetian Hotel, owned by heavyweight Republican contributor Sheldon Adelson, Palin did not mention this morning’s announcement by President Obama that he would stop deporting young adults brought to the United States as children. In a brief conversation with Politico after her speech, she accused Obama of “pandering to a specific demographic.”
She did, however, allude to the victory in Wisconsin by Republican Gov. Scott Walker, who beat a recall effort on June 5. She reminisced about sharing a stage with Breitbart on the steps of the Wisconsin Capitol in April 2011, at a gathering organized by Americans for Prosperity in support of Walker’s proposals to end collective bargaining for public unions.  (The Americans for Prosperity Foundation, part of the anti-tax group founded by the billionaire Koch brothers, sponsors the Right Online conference.)
”We were there, we few, we happy few, we band of brothers, in the blowing snow and pelting rain on the Capitol steps,” Palin said. “I felt right at home. … And that left-wing mob surrounded us with shouts and they had their drum circles and their cowbells -- oh the cowbells, that was so intimidating.”
Palin told the bloggers that the 2008 presidential campaign was “the final straw” for the credibility of old media, which, she said, devoted itself to studying the cost of her wardrobe, rather than vetting the future president.
“They propped him up and spun for him, and with tingles up their leg, they delivered their chosen one for the victory,” Palin said. “We have the time-tested truths on our side and we will defeat that Goliath of the old media that still seeks to deceive this most exceptional nation. So don’t’ retreat. Reload.”

In a fiery speech to conservative bloggers, Sarah Palin accused "old media" of not doing its job to vet Barack Obama before he became president and said it was up to "new media" to tell the truth to prevent his re-election in 2012.
"Who's going to tell them the truth?" Palin asked Friday night, speaking to the RightOnline conference in Las Vegas. "We must tell them the truth."
Palin, the former governor of Alaska, said reporters were too busy trying to dig up dirt on her in her hometown of Wasilla, after Republican John McCain picked her as his vice presidential running mate in 2008.
She said if people believed everything written about her and her family she would have been divorced from her husband, Todd, several times.
Like many conservatives who question Obama's past associations, Palin said in college he leaned toward Marxist professors and leftist radicals. She accused the Democrat of being a socialist at his core.
That's why the U.S. government is growing under Obama and deepening the nation's debt by millions of dollars each day, Palin said.
"The problem with being a socialist is eventually you run out of other people's money," Palin said to applause.
A conservative firebrand, Palin was the star speaker at the two-day RightOnline conference at the Venetian, the only non-union casino property on the strip. Sands CEO Sheldon Adelson, a big money donor to Republican candidates and causes, owns the hotel-casino.During her 35-minute speech to some 500 people at the event for online activists, Palin reserved her fire for mainstream media and Obama. She didn't mention Mitt Romney, the GOP presidential nominee who wasn't conservatives' first choice.
Palin praised Matt Drudge for becoming the first new media star who first began reporting stories that didn't appear in mainstream publications. She said social media has made it easier for everybody to be a "citizen journalist" now thanks to Twitter, Facebook and public websites.
"New media activists can really be the vanguard for the future of our country," said Palin, a favorite of the tea party movement against taxes. "New media is giving voice to the people because you are of the people. Without you, there wouldn't be a tea party movement."
Palin said the latest tea party victory came this month in Wisconsin when liberals failed to recall Gov. Scott Walker. Unions led an effort to oust him from office after he curbed collective bargaining rights.
"You stood by a governor who was bound and determined to keep his promises to the people who hired him to do that job," Palin said.
Palin said conservative new media could go beyond driving political discussion to "become a force for activism."
"You do what the old media won't do and can't do and that's tell the truth," she said.
She said some mainstream media don't always fall prey to political spin and "don't want to be the prince of Makecrapupistan."
But most old media, she said, protect the old guard, including establishment candidates and leaders such as Obama. Obama used social media effectively to win election, she said, but he also is "a creature of old media" who refused to vet him.
In a swipe at the White House, she accused the administration of leaking national security information to friendly media outlets "to make him look like a tough guy" as he runs for re-election.
Obama has denied the White House is responsible for the leaks, including one about a U.S.-Israeli assault on Iran's nuclear program with a computer virus. Leaks also have revealed Obama's role in deciding a "kill list" for drone strikes in Pakistan as well as a CIA operation in Yemen that blocked an attempt to blow up a transatlantic flight.Palin urged the conservative new media bloggers to never become part of the establishment political machine."Rage against the machine," Palin said to cheers.
