Gallup;Romney 43% At McCain's Pre-Palin Level.Game Change VP Needed?

At Real Clear Politics the Gallup tracking poll has Mitt Romney at 43% against President Obama and declining. Although in the Electoral College (the latest map from
Electoral-Vote.com is illustrated below) Romney has never been ahead, he is currently a massive 114 EC votes behind, he has been up to 5 points ahead of Obama in the tracking polls.

To go from 55% to 43% in a matter of weeks is a poor indicator for the Romney campaign, with the usual caveats "polls don't count this far out, people are not paying attention and etc.

Be that as it may when the McCain team sank to 43% they considered what they might do to fire up the base and lift their numbers.

They certainly did not turn to a "boring white man" and it beggars belief that if they had chosen Romney or Pawlenty McCain would have passed candidate Obama in the polls as he did after Palin was chosen.

The history of the McCain campaign including of course Palin's dramatic entry and McCain's subsequent rise from doldrums to leader, is brilliantly set out
AT THIS LINK Further, the polling history from Gallup in 2008, chronicling McCain at 43% then rising to being in the lead, and the reason for his loss, is set out under the map below this post.

Does anyone believe that if Romney adds Portman or Pawlenty or Daniels or Thune to his ticket that he will get such a polling lift that he will pass President Obama either now or post convention?

It may be that the Romney team will go the "no drama" route and hope that either the economic situation does for Romney what it did for Obama or that the base will turn out, with eyes closed having someone else help them to put their tick next to Mitt, and vote for him because of  their "anyone but Obama" imperative.

Both of those situations may not happen. The economy might just dawdle along enough, the bully pulpit and the assistance of the leftist media might play their traditional roles and libertarian Ron Johnson might take enough conservtaive protest votes to give Obama another term.

One thing is certain though, if Romney chose Palin (if she would accept the role of course) or a Palin then he would get an immediate lift in support from most of the base. The enthusiasm for "Palin" would be palpable, as it was in 2008 and the negatives from 2008 would not come into play this time.

Everything the left could possibly dig up, make up and vomit up against Palin has been dug, made, vomited. Every aspect of her and the life of every member of her family has been dissected and distorted. The public are no doubt tired of the imitators and the "I can see Alaska shtick is tired and forlorn. No this time around the media would have to report on Palin's actual words not the caricature they make of her.

This time around Palin would be just as combative, possibly more so, and she would be media savy and not open, in her honestly and innocence, to the traps the MSM and the Journolist conspiracy set for her.

This time around, if there was a major economic downturn like the one that derailed the McCain campaign in 2008, it would be the Obama team which would feel the full brunt of the ire of the public and the spearhead thrusts of Palin.

Romney can play it safe and possibly suffer a worse defeat than McCain, or he can go for a game changer. History will show how his first "executive" decision turns out, but he has the option now to gain the base.

Gallup polls from the last presidential race prove that once Palin joined the ticket on Aug. 29, 2008, McCain’s ratings steadily climbed to a point where the Republican ticket even out shined Democratic Sen. Barack Obama.
In the two weeks before Palin joined the McCain ticket, the Arizona senator drifted in the low 40 percentile range, mostly around 41, 42 and 43 percent, while Obama held as much as an 8 point lead at about 49 and 50 percent. Four days after Palin joined the ticket, however, McCain’s numbers climbed to 45 percent and Obama’s sank to 47 percent, narrowing the gap significantly from eight points to two.
Between Sept. 4-6, McCain and Palin actually overshot the Obama ticket by 3 percent with the Republicans in the lead at 48 percent and the Democrats at only 45. McCain consistently held that lead until Sept. 15, and then the candidates balanced out with Obama enjoying a mere three-point lead, and no lead at all from Sept. 22-24, when the numbers were tied at 46 percent.
[...]
Some were intrigued as to how McCain’s decision would play out in the polls, but once he suspended his campaign in late September he never recaptured the lead he enjoyed with the breaking news of recruiting Palin.
It was downhill from there.
McCain’s campaign was taken out of suspension, but it never actually got back off the ground. From then, the gap between McCain and Obama only widened, leaving the Republicans at a severe disadvantage. McCain’s numbers remained steady around 42 and 43 percent throughout October, but Obama’s continued climbing, and by October 31, McCain’s standing had dropped to 40 percent and Obama’s had reached 53 percent - a devastating 13-percent gap.

Bristol's calling is the lecture circuit - not reality TV.

Bristol and the very good looking
Tripp

Bristol Palin's Lifetime reality show is on the move. According to The Futon Critic,"Bristol Palin: Life's A Tripp" has been bumped to 11 p.m. ET. It will be replaced in the Tuesday 10 p.m. timeslot by "Dance Moms" reruns.

"Life's A Tripp" has been a ratings disappointment for Lifetime. The premiere of "Life's A Tripp" attracted 726,000 viewers on June 19. Its lead-in, "Dance Moms," had approximately a million more viewers that night. The next week, only 506,000 viewers watched back-to-back episodes of Palin's reality show, according to The Futon Critic. . . . .  (full story found here)

Notes:  makes one wonder just how Al Gore’s “Current TV” stays on the air,  what with a loser’s casting,  personalities that failed on other networks  (CNN and MSNBC)  and its viewership of around 70,000 per day  --  seriously.

Think of all those shows that are little more than classless smut programming with overweight and very unattractive,   slut-type women who can’t talk without bobbing their heads and smacking gum.

Of course,  Dance Mom’s is one of those shows.  Bristol should take heart,  half a million viewers really isn’t bad.  Obviously the two shows represent the difference between a conservative crowd and a Democrat audience.

Whose In Charge? Palin's Obamacare Ruling Tweet 6,025 Retweets Romney 's 4,529 Retweets

Just who is running the GOP's campaign at the moment? Is it the putative candidate Mitt Romney whose Massachusetts health care bill is an acknowledged precursor to Obama care?

Or is it Sarah Palin the rank and file look to for advice and taking the battle to the opposition with credibility?

Palin has been on Greta/The 5/Hannnity since the ruling and numerous comment sites/media outlets have analysed her thoughts on the matter-Romney not so much

"Irrelevant" Palin: “Nancy Pelosi is a Dingbat”

Palin: “Nancy Pelosi is a Dingbat”

Posted by Jackie Siciliano on June 29, 2012
dingbat: a stupid or eccentric person
Sarah Palin appeared with Sean Hannity tonight for an extensive discussion covering the recent decision of the Supreme Court to uphold the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare).  Palin did not hold back as is evidenced in the title of this blog post.
Governor Palin also expressed her disgust with the members of Congress that walked out on the Holder contempt vote citing a lack of respect for the Brian Terry family.

Palin Leaves Beckel Speechless on "Death Panels"

Courtesy of C4p/Sarah Net

My favorite part: At about the 2:25 mark, Bob Beckel attempts to discredit her brilliant (and effective) death panel metaphor for Obamacare’s inevitable rationing.  She knocks it out of the park, leaving Beckel speechless.

Sooner or later, evil men meet their end - Holder's may come sometime next year.

Two contempt citations were passed through the House on Thursday with votes including 17 Democrats. One was a criminal contempt which was declined by the Solicitor General just hours ago (Friday).  No surprise there.  The second was a civil action and that will proceed into civil/Federal court,  where Holder will be required to surrender some the documents he wants kept secret.   The investigation will not impact the election except as it presents a corrupt AG office to many voters.  Make no mistake, however,  if Obama survives the election,  this bit of corruption will become one of the principle news stories of Obama's next term.  Nixon prosecutors did much the same thing,  as far as time-tables are concerned,  and he was forced into resignation during his second term.  In the end,  this election will be about the economy  -  not this scandal,  not Obama's passed cocaine use,  not ObamaCare.  All of the above will play a role,  no doubt,  but nothing is more important than the state of the economy and the selection of someone who actually knows what he is doing.

Here is the rather shocking news of the day:

So Elijah Cummings along with Eric Holder knew of top secret details concerning Fast and Furious as of May 24.  Not only that, this information was the result of an approved wire tape that signed by several assistant Attorneys General.  Either these individuals were acting on their own,  or they were acting under Holder’s oversight (at least).  Whatever the case,  it appears that Holder was lying about what he knew and Cummings has been aware of this for several weeks.   Anyone still think this is a partisan witch hunt ???

Issa Puts Wiretap Details in Congressional Record
1:53 PM, JUN 29, 2012 • BY DANIEL HALPER
Roll Call reports the latest news in the Fast and Furious scandal:
In the midst of a fiery floor debate over contempt proceedings for Attorney General Eric Holder, House Oversight and Government Reform Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) quietly dropped a bombshell letter into the Congressional Record.
The May 24 letter to Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.), ranking member on the panel, quotes from and describes in detail a secret wiretap application that has become a point of debate in the GOP’s “Fast and Furious” gun-walking probe. . . . . . . .
According to the letter, the wiretap applications contained a startling amount of detail about the operation, which would have tipped off anyone who read them closely about what tactics were being used.
Holder and Cummings have both maintained that the wiretap applications did not contain such details and that the applications were reviewed narrowly for probable cause, not for whether any investigatory tactics contained followed Justice Department policy.

Interview With Sarah Palin On SCOTUS Decision Plus Conservative Commentary

Sarah Palin is more qualified to be the conservative spokesperson on the SCOTUS decision as she is unencumbered by the history that Mitt Romney has.

Here is her interview with Greta on the vital subject
followed by a commentary from BrianusBerkleianus from Conservatives4Palin.

She calls the Supreme Court's obamacare decision "treachery."

Note that "treachery" signifies betrayal of one's own side; it signifies treason. We expected the four Leftist Justices to side with obama, pelosi, and reid. Therefore, it is the supposed "conservative" John Roberts, principally, who is the treacherous one.

However, in the face of this treachery she urges OPTIMISM: The issue of healthcare is back in the hands of the People via their representatives.

She wants Congress to rescind the TAX in July.

"Absolutely it’s a tax; it's nearly a trillion dollars' worth … this is a penalty; it is a tax on the People; it's a tax on States, it's a raiding of Medicare funds …"

She repeats Milton Friedman's (I think it is) "There is no such thing as a free lunch."

The 50% who pay taxes will have even more taxes.

The other 50%, who think they are getting a free ride, will have less availability of healthcare; fewer choices; less efficient and more bureaucratic healthcare--it will be RATIONED." (emphasis mine)--This last statement goes right to her famous "death panels" phrase. She did not explicitly wield the words this last evening, but she implies them here!!

"[It] truly defies economic and common sense to say that healthcare with more enrollees in the program will not have to be RATIONED." (emphasis mine)

She speaks carefully about Romney.

Greta mentions him explicitly. In response to the host's specific inquiry, The Governor replies, "If Governor Romney is elected President--and let's hope the GOP does take over the White House, and can secure the Senate, and holds onto the House …" Note that she does NOT say "And let’s hope HE does take over the White House." She says, "… and let's hope the GOP does take over, etc."

Anyway, if this happens, obamacare must be repealed.

Further, TORT-REFORM and anti-competitiveness problems must be resolved.

She calls on common-sense-conservative Democrats to join in this great effort!!

If obama is reelected, we will be a fundamentally transformed country, just as he promised. If obama is reelected, America will no longer recognize herself.

obamacare is a HARBINGER of things to come.

She wants GOVERNORS to be tough, and to opt out of obamacare, and EXERT THE TENTH AMENDMENT!!!

THEN SHE HURLS THE GAUNTLET IN obama's TEETH AS ONLY SHE CAN!!!

"[He] does not understand the Constitution; he even being a Constitutional lecturer and SUPPOSED (emphasis mine) scholar in our Constitution, not understanding, probably never reading nor absorbing the Tenth Amendment to understand that STATES HAVE RIGHTS. WE ARE SOVEREIGN STATES." (emphasis mine)

Sarah well understands that obama obtained his places at Columbia and Harvard (or wherever it was) SOLELY BECAUSE HE WAS A USEFUL TOOL FOR THE RADICAL LEFT. A Clarence Thomas, for example, would never be welcome at such places!!

Two final observations:

SARAH is the one to carry the battle standard of the now revitalized and reinvigorated TEA Party in the autumn; the author of Romneycare is not the person for the task. NOBODY eviscerates barack hussein obama, and understands the heart and mind and soul of America, the way SARAH PALIN OF ALASKA does.

Also, IMHO, I suspect John Roberts of playing a sneaky double game in support of BOTH WINGS OF THE GOVERNMENT PARTY that is opposed to Sarah's nascent concept of a Party of Freedom.

Namely, Roberts saves obamacare for the Left, but also cynically figures his decision will rouse up enough conservatives to "hold their noses" and vote in Romney in November. He thus helps the entire Establishment, Left and RINO.

HuffPost Writer Chelsea Hoffman "Palin's Crosshairs Propaganda May Have Led To Gifford's Shooting"

Alleged human and Huffington Post leftist contributor one Chelsea Hoffman responded to Sarah Palin's critique of the SCOTUS health care ruling in the only way leftists seem to be able to, with disgusting innuendo and unproven claims.

Dealing with the substance of Palin's argument is clearly beyond the capability of Hoffman, but out and out Alinskyite propaganda is her forte.

Hoffman says inter-alia in her disgusting screed at Politics.Gather.com  what supposedly passes for argument from the left in the highlighted comments in red below

It is beyond belief that anyone could even use the word "may' as a qualifier to an outrageous supposition. There is absolutely no proof whatsoever, either from Loughner, who is clearly deranged, or anyone else connected with the tragedy that anything Palin said or did had an bearing on his actions.

Hoffman's statement ranks in infamy with that other alleged human Kos Moulitsas from the PDS afflicted leftist hate sight "Daily Kos" who Tweeted, after the tragedy and with no real knowledge of what caused it, "Mission accomplished Sarah Palin"

Not content with advising that Palin may have instigated Gifford's being shot in the head, the disgusting Hoffman then goes on to make totally unfounded comments about Palin's appearance, ascribing extensive plastic surgery to her. To state that Palin "looks like a wannabe terrorist leader" is frankly, bordering on the insane.

Hoffman and her ilk do a service in that they expose the unparalleled utter hatred the left has for a right to life conservative woman who lives her Christian principles. By exposing the pustular ulcers that lie at the heart of leftists, Hoffman helps the wider public to avoid them like the plague they are.

Here is Hoffman in full Palin Derangement Syndrome flight

"Maybe the plastic surgery she's been getting reduced the oxygen flow to her brain because making comments like that really makes her look like a wannabe terrorist leader! Hey, since she couldn't keep her job as Governor of Alaska without quitting like it was some fast food gig, why not be a talking head for the craziest of the crazies in the U.S.?

"Sarah Palin has a habit of using war-rhetoric, which is drenched in violence and borderline threats of "revolution." Afterall, her "crosshairs" propaganda may have been what led to Arizona democrat Gabby Giffords getting shot in the head by attempted assassin Jared Lee Loughner."

Imbecile Childish SCOTUS Comments At Leftist Hate Site "Daily Kos"

That the leftist hate site "daily Kos" is a repository for utter childish buffoons is a given. Why the site has any credence or standing is a mystery but as long as there are people with an immature outlook there will be some sort of venue for them to froth and gibber I imagine.

The site  is notable amongst such hate sites for the astonishingly childish and hateful tweet by the sites  founder one Kos Moulitsas after the Gifford's shooting "Mission accomplished Sarah Palin" and his acolytes inventing the disgusting myth that rig was not Palin's son.

In case anyone believe the site has any pretence to having any educational value the post , reproduced in part below, in respect of the SCOTUS ruling, which, whichever stance you take one must agree it is an issue of import and substance an is to be discussed rationally.

Here is the best the best minds at "Kos" can come up with after the landmark SCOTUS health care decision. It is only a small part of a cascade of childish imagery and buffoonery which is only matched by the further comments from the denizens of the site. I am not going to link to it as they don't deserve any traffic, but it is of value to see how the  hate filled minds of the leftists works.

Palin In Full Attack Mode Over Scotus"Rescind The Tax"

Mitt Romney advises that "on day one of his presidency" he will remove Obama care. In actuality it is Palin not Romney who has credibility on the issue-even president Obama pointed to Romney's Massachusetts health care law instituted by him as a precursor to his own law.

Nothing needs to be added to Palin's statement below  "Congress has the power to rescind a tax" apart from the musing that perhaps there is still time to change candidates for the GOP nomination.

Thursday, June 28, 2012

Sarah Palin: Thank you, SCOTUS.

From Sarah Palin's Facebook post:
Thank you, SCOTUS. This Obamacare ruling fires up the troops as America’s eyes are opened! Thank God.

This proves to be such an unsettling time in America as we undergo the fundamental transformation that Barack Obama promised he would do to us if elected.

Obamacare was dealt in deception and confusion by flooding the public with an overwhelming amount of conflicting “rationale” via thousands of pages of unread legislative detail, which is the radical left’s M.O.

Obama promised the American people this wasn’t a tax and that he’d never raise taxes on anyone making less than $250,000.

We now see that this is the largest tax increase in history. It will slam every business owner and every one of the 50% of Americans who currently pay their taxes.

The other 50% are being deceived if they think they’re going to get a free ride – because Medicaid is broke. Recipients of Obama’s “free health care” will have fewer choices and less accessibility. Trust me – this much more expensive health care WILL be rationed; to claim otherwise defies all economic and common sense.

We will not retreat on this. A newly elected legislative branch is key to defending our Republic and fundamentally restoring all that is good in America.

SCOTUS now rules this is a tax? Well, Congress has the ability to create taxes – and also has the ability to rescind them. Upon their return from the July recess, Congress should act immediately to repeal this terrible new tax on the American people, and indeed they must repeal all of Obamacare. This is the most brazen and sweeping new tax and government overreach imposed on us. We the People did not ask for this tax, we do not want this tax, and we can’t afford this tax. This is not an answer to America’s health care challenges.

It’s time, again, for patriotic Americans to rise up to protest this obvious infringement on our economic and personal freedom. November is just around the corner. Today, the Supreme Court issued their ruling on Obamacare. In November, We the People will issue ours.

- Sarah Palin

Sarah Palin's response:

"Thank God" for the Supreme Court because it would rally conservatives around the election:
SCOTUS now rules this is a tax? Well, Congress has the ability to create taxes – and also has the ability to rescind them. Upon their return from the July recess, Congress should act immediately to repeal this terrible new tax on the American people, and indeed they must repeal all of Obamacare. This is the most brazen and sweeping new tax and government overreach imposed on us. We the People did not ask for this tax, we do not want this tax, and we can’t afford this tax. This is not an answer to America’s health care challenges.

"Obama lied to the American people, again.  He said it wasn't a tax.  Obama lies and freedom dies. "  -- Sarah Palin

The Supreme Court just institutionalized "deceit" as part of the legislative process. You Dems must be so proud.

Health insurance premiums are a tax and the IRS is now,  the single most important force in social reform . . . . . unless this idiocy is repealed. George Stephanopoulos is laughed at in an interview with Hussein Obama as this Muslim lover (say it isn't so,  Joe) arrogantly dismisses Stephy's charge.  Now,  three years later,  we are told that Stephanopoulos was correct and Obama's arrogant display of dismissive self assertive deceit was and is little more than a self serving lie.

As you listen to this video,  understand that Obama is not laughing at George,  he is laughing at all who watch this video  -  Democrat or Republican.

Understand that Medicaid, passed into law just 47 years ago,  is now 39 trillion dollars in debt.  Obama Care will be worse.  More than this,  ObamaCare cost a dissenting citizen $95 in IRS levied fines in 2014,  $395 in 2015 and $695 in 2016.  You have the Democrats to thank for this and the Democrats,  alone.

Understand this,  Obama and the Marxist Socialists who are complicit in his plans,  cannot fundamentally transform the United States of America without drastically  increasing the tax burden on the middle class as never before.  He  cannot complete his transformation without driving inflationary rates to 15% or higher.  Home heating costs will increase by 5 fold, under Obama.  Poor folks will not be able to afford to buy a new energy efficient car . . . . . . ever.  Nor, will the poor be able to afford the daily cost of living without help from Central Government.  All of this will become reality by the end of his second term,  should that happen.

The High Court just approved of a legislative process that is based in deception. ObamaCare is a stealth tax and is the sole responsibility of the Democrats.

The Lie Has Become Law
We were told this was not a tax and we were told this,  dozens of times,  by Hussein Obama.  Turns out this was a lie.
Moral Legislative Process Has Become a Joke
Obviously,  legislative process means nothing to the Democrats who supported this law.  They decided to intentionally lie to the people  ("it is not a tax and the IRS will not enforce this law"),  yet defended the law,  before the High Court,  in these very terms.

What really got shot down,  today,  was legitimate and moral legislative process. It should not be permissible to argue a law in the people's court as one thing,  but defend it in our socially oriented courts in totally different terms.  Democrats love this two-faced approach to legislation,  the Patriot Nation hates it.
The Future of the Patriot Nation is in Question
What remains to be seen, is how the 19 Republican states view today's decision.  Also,  will this decision excite the Patriot opposition even more,  or serve to discourage and repress their vote.

We were lied to by Obama and no one cares. He specifically told all who would listen, "This is absolutely not a tax." Obviously, legislative process means nothing.

<<<< As angry as I am,  the fact remains that ObamaCare - as a tax - cannot require States complicity.  How that plays out nation wide,  will be a matter of great discussion throughout the day.

"Nobody considers this a tax increase"  -- Obama.  We were lied to and absolutely no one cares.

Never mind the fact that this bill was not written as a tax.  Never mind the fact that the lying sac of  trash we have as a president told us over and over and over and over and over that this bill was NOT  a tax.

We now have, in ObamaCare - the single largest tax in the history of mankind.

The law remains the most unpopular piece of legislation in modern times.  It was passed as an imperialist function of the Democrat Party.  In the end,  it turns out that Chief Justice Roberts is a social reformer,  as much a liberal as Sotomayor or Elena Kagan.  It was not his job to "figure out" how to make this bill work,  as a matter of law.  Rather,  it was his job to judge the law as it was presented to him  -  an extension of the Commerce Law.  On that matter, the Court ruled the law unConstitutional.  But after making that decision,  Roberts decided it was his duty to make this law work  and defended it as a tax  in spite of the fact that the American people were expressly told that this was not a tax.

Understand that Roberts,  earlier this week,  sided with the OTHER  liberals on the court and against the State of Arizona.  Obviously,  our court system has been completely taken over by social justice crowd and we have been officially  screwed.

If this law is a tax and not a mandate  -  individual states cannot be forced to put the law into force or set up exchanges.

Finally A Senator Responds (Video) To Palin's Death Panels"Repeal Entire Law"Deny Bureaucrats Power

The key remarks from Senator Barrasso whilst under direct and constant prodding attack against Palin) are towards the end of the video in direct response to the question (from an MSNBC commentator) about death panels where he pointedly remarks about "faceless bureaucrats' in respect of cost management leading to denying proper care.

Governor palin's complete post on the subject follows below without the MSNBC filter

The Hill has the comments detailed below from Senator Barrasso in respect of Sarah Palin's renewed attack on the Obama administrations health care law including her terming an aspect of the law as 'death panels.

Palin was roundly criticised by the left but it is generally agreed that her attack on the Obama admin's proposals created a massive resistance to them and may have been one of the major contributing factors to the Tea party movement which led to the GOP takeover of the House in 2010.

Senator Barrasso is vehemently opposed to the law and his opinion carries extra weight as he is a medical professional as well as a law maker.

The whole The Hill article as AT THIS LINK

Sen. John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) said Wednesday that a portion of the controversial healthcare overhaul legislation that's designed to control Medicare costs will result in the denial of care for patients.
"You shouldn't put anyone between their doctor and their patient, not an insurance company bureaucrat, not a government bureaucrat," Barrasso said on MSNBC's "Jansing & Co."
Barrasso was responding to former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's newly revived claim that President Obama's signature healthcare law would create "death panels."

"Though I was called a liar for calling it like it is, many of these accusers finally saw that ObamaCare did in fact create a panel of faceless bureaucrats who have the power to make life and death decisions about health care funding," she wrote on her Facebook page Monday.

When asked whether Palin's accusations were true, Barrasso said "I want to eliminate the entire law, have the entire law repealed."

***************************************************************************************

Governor Palin: “Death Panel” Three Years Later

As we wait for the impending Supreme Court decision on Obamacare, I reiterate what I wrote in my first post on this topic nearly three years ago. I stand by everything I wrote in that warning to my fellow Americans, because what was true then is true now, and it will remain true as we hear what the Supreme Court has to say.
It was a pretty long post, but a lot of people seem to have only read two words of it: “death panel.” Though I was called a liar for calling it like it is, many of these accusers finally saw that Obamacare did in fact create a panel of faceless bureaucrats who have the power to make life and death decisions about health care funding. It’s called the Payment Advisory Board (IPAB ), and its purpose all along has been to “keep costs down” by actually denying care via price controls and typically inefficient bureaucracy. This subjective rationing of care is what I was writing about in that first post:
The Democrats promise that a government health care system will reduce the cost of health care, but as the economist Thomas Sowell has pointed out, government health care will not reduce the cost; it will simply refuse to pay the cost. And who will suffer the most when they ration care? The sick, the elderly, and the disabled, of course. The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama’s “death panel” so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their “level of productivity in society,” whether they are worthy of health care. Such a system is downright evil.
Health care by definition involves life and death decisions. Human rights and human dignity must be at the center of any health care discussion.
Rep. Michele Bachmann highlighted the Orwellian thinking of the president’s health care advisor, Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, the brother of the White House chief of staff, in a floor speech to the House of Representatives. I commend her for being a voice for the most precious members of our society, our children and our seniors.
We must step up and engage in this most crucial debate. Nationalizing our health care system is a point of no return for government interference in the lives of its citizens. If we go down this path, there will be no turning back. Ronald Reagan once wrote, “Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we’ll ever see on this earth.” Let’s stop and think and make our voices heard before it’s too late.
If the Supreme Court doesn’t strike down Obamacare entirely, then Congress must act to repeal IPAB and Obamacare before it is indeed too late.”All of Obamacare must go one way or another.
