Olympia Snowe is leaving THE party. Such is a very good sign and here is why>

Maine Sen. Olympia Snowe to retire in blow to GOP  —  Maine Republican Sen. Olympia Snowe will not seek reelection in 2012, she announced Tuesday.  —  Sen. Olympia Snowe (R-Maine) on Dec. 17, 2011, after leaving the floor of the Senate.  (J. Scott Applewhite - AP) . . . . .

Editor's note:  not a "blow" at all.  Understand that an important aspect of TEA Party purpose is to "take back the GOP."  While Olympia Snowe stood by the GOP in its opposition to the Stimulus and ObamaCare as it is currently structured,  she is not aligned with a conservative agenda that demands a return to Constitutional values in determining our legislative future.  If a proposed bill,  for example,  has value to the larger population but defies Constitutional principles,  Olympia is just as disposed to ignore the Constitution as are the Democrats.

Personally,  I feel no animus  toward this Senator.  Olympia simply disagrees with the notion that the founding documents need to play an increasing role in the legislative agenda of Congress.  That is her choice.  But she no longer fits into the scheme of things as defined the by present-day politics of the Right.

Understand that the GOP is a very compromised party,  allowing the likes of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Michael Bloomberg,  Arlen Specter,  Senator Dick Lugar, Olympia Snowe,  her Maine senatorial partner,  Susan Collins,  Collin Powell,  and the very unpopular John McCain to continue in the party until they see fit to move on.

The chart, above,  shows a steady progression toward conservative values and away from liberal,  big government intent within the House of Representative.    Of course,  those who created the chart are,  themselves, big government liberals,  but,  nevertheless,  the conservative trend is real and,  even,  substantial.

It is my belief that "we" should not fear the offering of choice.  While GOP Establishment types (those who work for the status quo) seem to fear the creation of a political agenda that offers a fundamental choice to that of the Democrats,  conservatives say,  "Bring it on."    With the departure of Olympia Snowe,  the conservative positioning is strengthened,  not diminished.  Can a true conservative win election in Maine?  Probably not, at least not now,   but how on earth will we ever know if we continue to refuse to offer Maine voters a choice?  And if Maine voters are so far "gone" that the Constitution is no longer important to them,  who really cares?

Snowe is not leaving politics.  She is leaving the GOP and may be aligning herself with a group in the "no labels" movement called Americans Elect.

Here is the Senator's announcement:

As I enter a new chapter, I see a vital need for the political center in order for our democracy to flourish and to find solutions that unite rather than divide us. It is time for change in the way we govern, and I believe there are unique opportunities to build support for that change from outside the United States Senate. I intend to help give voice to my fellow citizens who believe, as I do, that we must return to an era of civility in government driven by a common purpose to fulfill the promise that is unique to America.

The highlighted portions of her statement make it clear that Senator Snowe is looking for a political alternative that is neither "Democrat" nor "Republican."  The frustrating aspect of her decision is found in the fact that she is not looking to continue Constitutional concerns,  per se.  As much as we complain about the court system,  it is the only thing that prevents the Left from simply walking away from the founding documents and our national historicity,  and creating an America that has little to do with its foundational base.  In Snowe's statement, above,  she speaks of  a "time for change in the way we govern"  rather than announcing a call to agreement as to the place and purpose of the Constitution.

Political angst has, indeed,  increased and no one enjoys that fact.  But, this growing antagonism is  because Leftist concerns and blatant Marxists have decided to take this country down a different path, do it now,  do so whether the people agree or not . . . . . and,  it appears, that the people "do not."

Oil is not the problem. This rogue presidency is and here is why.

It is officially called The Strategic Petroleum Reserve.  It was created after the oil embargo of 1973.  Currently,  there is 695 million barrels of crude (sweet and sour) in storage,  the largest reserve in the world.  At current usage levels,  this equates to 33 days of supply if used solely as our fuel source.  Of course,  that is not how the storage would be expended.

If we used the supply to augment current purchases in an effort to stabilize prices,  the Reserve could last as long as six months.

Problem:  such is a temporary fix,  of course.  Oil purchased into the reserve was priced at under $60 per barrel.    Obviously,  replacement costs,  something that investors will be considering,  could be double that price.

Secondly,  no one knows the full effect of releasing this fuel into the market place.

To this Okie editor,  it seems like we are selling house furniture to pay the mortgage.  What happens when we run out of furniture?  Unlike 1973,  we actually have plenty of fuel supply.  The price of oil is determined, in part, on the futures market.  Investors have much to do with current pricing as other influences . . . . . . . and they are not all "American."  If they think oil will sell at a higher price six months from now,  they will make purchases today, setting in stone those prices,  as a hedge against higher prices, "tomorrow."   Understand that retirement funds are tied to investment strategies.  It is how most who have 401K's increase the value of their investment.

A second influence that is driving the price of crude,  is the health of the dollar bill.  For the most part, all commodities, world wide,  are traded with the dollar bill and the United States controls the supply of the dollar bill.    If we print "extra" dollars in an effort to stabilize domestic interest rates (which we are doing),  that very process diminishes the value of the dollar bill and,  as a consequence,  the price per barrel has to increase --  in fact,  the cost of all dollar-traded commodities increase.

As I see it,  me being a layman analyst, this last consideration is that which provides the greatest complication to our current problem.

Investor's are betting on the Obama Administration and its mindless energy "policy."  Understand that while the Administration is bragging about how much fuel is being produced - as if they were pro-oil - it fails to point to the fact that oil production on Federal lands is down,  and production on private and state owned lands take more than 4 years to "permit."   Think about it,  the production Obama is bragging about is the result of permitting processes begun under the Bush Administration.

Can anyone say, "Thank God for Bush?"

Point of post:  as long as the United States trudges along without a comprehensive energy policy,  we will have to deal with the whims of the marketplace.  Free market capitalism demands that when investments are poorly structured,  they be allowed to fail.  The current national economic crisis is not the fault of the free market.  Rather, the very opposite is true.  Barack Obama and the Democrat leadership have all pronounced their displeasure with free-market capitalism, but,  offer no viable alternative to capitalism except government sponsored bailouts, "investments,"  and the manipulation of the monetary supply.

Startling, isn't it?  The current fuel crisis is not the cause of fuel, at all,  but the idiocy of a presidency that is rogue, out of control,  and bent on taking us away from those principles that made this country great.  The following is the problem:

MICHELLE OBAMA: "Barack knows that we are going to have to make sacrifices; we are going to have to change our conversation; we're going to have to change our traditions, our history; we're going to have to move into a different place as a nation."  (May of 2008)

Quote of the Month: Funny, just a month ago Santorum opposed Democrat involvement in GOP election processes.

"We want the activists of the party, the people who make up the backbone of the Republican Party to have a say in who our nominee is as opposed to a bunch of people who don't even identify themselves as Republicans picking our nominee,   I don't like that.   I believe that states should only allow Republicans to vote in Republican primaries."

Rick Santorum, Jan 29, 2012.

Gallup's latest survey regarding ObamaCare - 72% believe it is unConstitutional.

Obama has spent years trying to dress up the legislative pig we know as ObamaCare.  It was hatched in the back rooms of congress over the opposition of the majority of the American people.  If fact,  it has never polled in the "positive" since its corrupt conception.    If there is a direct relationship between the information found in this Gallup survey and election year motivation,  Obama is facing a disaster in November.  Think about this:  most understand the midterms (2010) were a collective first response of the electorate to this legislative fiat.  But "we," the people,  all know who is to blame,  and 2012 is the year we get to tell him,  personally,  what we think of his legislative agenda and dictatorial methodology - - blog editor.
From Gallup:
Americans Do Not Think Individual Mandate Passes Legal Muster
The Supreme Court next month will hear legal challenges to the healthcare law, which are focused on the law's requirement that all Americans purchase health insurance or pay a fine. Americans overwhelmingly believe the "individual mandate," as it is often called, is unconstitutional, by a margin of 72% to 20%.
Even a majority of Democrats, and a majority of those who think the healthcare law is a good thing, believe that provision is unconstitutional.
As you may know, the Supreme Court will hear arguments next month concerning a requirement in the healthcare law that every American must buy health insurance or pay a fine. Regardless of whether you favor or oppose the law, do you think this requirement is constitutional or unconstitutional? Among all Americans, by party ID, and by view of healthcare law, February 2012

TEA Party !! Is this what you want - a representative of TEA Party values willing to make alliances with Socialist unions in order to win an election? If the TEA Party supports this, it stands for nothing.

Call me crazy,  but this TEA Party patriot does not want a GOP representative who will ally himself with Big Government Democrat/Socialists to defeat one of his GOP opponents.

Understand that the Left wants Santorum as the GOP candidate.  With Rick as the GOP offering,  Democrats will be able to run a campaign based on their world view of moral issues versus Santorum's.  With Santorum in place,  the fight will be about Rick as much as it will be about Obama . . . . . . . . . . .  if not more so,

In the face of this reality,  Santorum has decided to partner with big government union workers in Michigan,  inviting them to vote in the Michigan open primary,  helping him to defeat Romney.

Santorum stupidly defends this moves,  expressing the belief that he is forming an election season alliance that will [also] help him beat Obama.  Anyone,  absolutely anyone,  who believes that Santorum is not crafting his own general election victory in this alliance,  is simply not paying any attention to what is going on within Democrat voters.

What has me most upset,  is the fact that Michigan TEA party folks are supporting this "small government, principled" phony.

On Principle - Santorum is a Phony.
In the most recent debate,  Santorum made it clear that,  on occasion,  he is fully capable of  voting against his principles as he "takes one for the team."

On Big Government - Santorum is a Phony
In our research of this Pennsylvanian Loser, we found that he voted to double the size of the Department of Education,  voting to support one of the more godless/secular agencies in our governmental system,  voting to keep Big Government at the center of our children's education,  voting to ultimately support the godless educational agenda of the Far Left.

On Abortion - Santorum is a Phony
In defending his statements on contraception,  Santorum used his several votes in support of Title X as evidence that,  should he be elected,  he would not oppose contraception,  legally.  Turns out that his much touted support of Title X translated, also, into support for the continual funding of Planned Parenthood and its 325,000 abortions, annually.

On the Auto Bailouts - Santorum is a Phony
Yesterday,  Santorum's Michigan  robo-calls sought to inflame the passions of unionized Democrat auto workers, making the point that Romney voted for TARP but not for the auto bailouts.  The fact that Santorum voted against the auto bailouts,  as well,  is apparently not important since he opposed TARP,  as well.  Idiot.

Understand that all remaining GOP candidates are less than desirable,  but far better than the corruption and collectivism of the existing imperialist president. On point, however,  I find that Santorum is a more dangerous proponent of political compromise than any of the other candidates.  The time to stop this phony baloney, plastic banana,  clown is now.

The tale of two Farrakhans. Who to believe, who to believe.

The Chicago Tribune presented the hate speech of Louis Farrakhan in an assembly of thousands of dissident blacks

Farrakhan, the man who loves Obama

From the Tribune:

In a fiery lecture to thousands of followers of the Nation of Islam on Sunday in Chicago, Minister Louis Farrakhan warned that racial hatred could lead to attempts to assassinate President Barack Obama.
Farrakhan spent much of his oration decrying what he cast as Satan's influence over racist forces in politics and society before asking a pointed rhetorical question: "Do you think they're wicked enough to be plotting our brother's assassination as we speak?"
Farrakhan delivered his speech to an enthusiastic crowd of adherents packed loosely into the United Center for the Nation of Islam's annual observance of Saviours' Day, which celebrates the birth of the faith's founder, W. Fard Muhammad. This year's events marked the 82nd year of the religion's existence in North America. . . . . .

Editor's notes:  here is my concern.  Since no one I know in the conservative camp is talking about violence against Obama,  what if Farrakhan and other black leaders,  men who have spoken out in their deeply felt disappointment of Obama,   are stoking the fires of violence in the hopes of winning the day for the Violent Black Agenda,  one which is detailed and supported by Farrakhan.  Listen to this March 19, 2011 tirade as Farrakhan accuses Obama of treason in the killing of Momar Kadafi.

Farrahkan, the man who hates Obama

You heard the man.  Anyone think he is a supporter of Obama?  Anyone think that this man,  Farrahkan, is a man of peace?   Anyone think I have lost my mind or that there is not something else going on here?  Can anyone tell which Farrakhan we are need to pay attention to?

So, which side wants to kill a prisident? Hint: it ain't the TEA party.

Post script summary:   virtually everything pertaining to Obama is about boosting his approval numbers. Talk of the number of death threats is part of this strategy. That talk is being "replayed" and for the same reasons.

Politico,  a far left publication,  actually carried a serious news article in December of 2009 dispelling the fantasy that Obama was facing more life threatening difficulty than previous presidents,  especially Bush 43.  In the spirit of a little kid,  Obama has busied himself, throughout his term in office, with comparisons to other presidents. "I am better than . . . . I have done more than . . .  I have accomplished more than . . . . I write better speeches than . . . . .  I have had to deal with more difficulties than . . . . . . . . . This storyline is no different.

Secret Service: Threat level against Obama no greater than under Bush, Clinton

Bit of a bombshell at this morning's  Homeland Security Committee hearing:
U.S. Secret Service Director Mark Sullivan dismissed published reports that the level of death threats against President Obama are four times greater than typical threat levels against recent presidents — claiming the current volume of threats is comparable to that under George W. Bush and Bill Clinton.
"It's not [a] 400 percent [increase]," Sullivan said during a heated exchange with Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-D.C.), who suggested the service needed additional agents to protect the first African-American president.
"I'm not sure where that number comes from," he said, adding that the number of threats against Obama "are the same level as it has been [against] the last two presidents."
Sullivan said he would get more specific in a closed-door session with members of the Homeland Security Committee.
Before the Politico article,  above, the Marxist blogosphere was aflame with the nonsense that Obama is/was the most hated of presidents.  Here are several examples.
October 19th, 2009,  TMP  , reported the most death threats in the history of the presidency.
August 3rd, 2009 the UK's Telegraph reported
August 5th, 2009  Crooks and Liars, another Marxist Left blog, reproduces the lie that Obama is more under attack than any previous president.
August 28th, 2009  CNN reports a 400% increase

After the Politico piece?  The chatter began to die down almost immediately and within weeks,  such stories were none existent.
Editor J Smithson without his sign
Smithson imposter and this moron can't spell!!
Typical Leftist.
Go to Zomblog and compare the intensity of the death threats leveled against G.W. with the overt signage against Obama . . . . . . . . hint: there is no comparison.  Look at the fit the Marxist Media made of the occasional TEA Party sign against Obama compared to the thousands of such during the Bush era.
The Loser in this picture  (No,  it is not me), besides needing to do his laundry and take a refresher spelling course,  has no clue as to what he is doing. But, forgeting about the several misspellings;  think about the fact that such signs were typical to every Leftist gathering during the Bush presidency  . . . . . .  every demonstration.  Such is simply not true under Obama.  It is not our side that thinks killing the president is a solution,  it is the Left.
I lived through the assassination of a president.  I saw the deceit and game playing that went on as the powers of the day covered up the truth of what happened on November 22, 1963.  I never want to see that again.  But that does not mean that the patriot nation should lay down and play dead in the face of a domestic take-over of our nation.  Since 2010,  I have come to appreciate the power conservatives can have at the ballot box.  We do not need violence to force a change in the direction of this nation.  We need information and a means to get that information "out there."  We have that reality now.  The patriot press is alive,  well, and growing.

Obama does not begin to face the danger experienced by George W Bush during his time in the White House. Go to the Zomblog site and read through that article.  It might shock you to see the intensity of the threats against Bush.  As I have just implied, we have all the truth necessary to dispel the lies from the Left.  This post and this particular discussion is proof of my point.

Obama's approval numbers are back to January numbers - today he is at 45%.

Rasmussen has all of Obama's approval daily averages listed "day by day" from
the beginning of his time in office.

In Effort To Save Sinking Crapshow "Game Change" Hatchet Job; Julianne Moore Now Praises Palin

As threats, in fact actual cancellations of HBO subscriptions by Palin supporters, a full on rebuttal attack by Palin's former 2008 election aides, and Senator McCain refusing to even look at "Game Change". things are looking grim for the hatchet job

The producers has the whole spectrum of the 2008 campaign to focus on-even, well it would be mad to even contemplate liberal Hollywood doing so, the Obama Rev. Wright affair. But no, they chose a conservative woman to focus their movie on

No doubt they did this because they calculated that Palin would be running fro president about now and their hit job would finish off what they perceived as the strongest threat to the object of their affection, president Obama.

How they must have cursed when Palin decided not to run as they are stuck with a hatchet job with  no one to bury the hatchet into.On the other hand they are, inadvertently  giving the pro-Palin movie "The Undefeated an even larger audience than HBO reaches as it was picked up by ReelzChannel  and will run the day after "Game Change debuts to publicity to could never have generated previously.

To compound their miscalculation HBO released a trailer which showed Palin as some sort of gibbering idiot in a semi-comotose state. Her subsequent address at CPAC, to an overflow crowd showed a person at the top of her game, fully in charge of the situation and herself. A stark contrast to the Aunt Sally HBO presented.

Moore, whom I had the misfortune to pay to see in the Broadway play "The Vertical Hour" at The Music Box Theater in New York (where she was acted off the stage by Bill Nighy) added to the attack by disparaging remarks about Palin at the time of the trailer release:

"Julianne, 51, told Capitol File magazine: ‘She wasn’t qualified to be vice president. She wasn’t a qualified candidate.
‘I think that became quite evident during the campaign.
‘It was so shocking to me when she resigned the governorship of Alaska when the presidential election was over.
‘I was stunned. I just think that shows such an unbelievable lack of interest in the actual governing."

But Moore's handlers have obviously seen the way the wind is blowing, as sympathy for Palin builds up, and her supporters are livid. The further release of another massive batch of Palin's emails from her time as Governor of Alaska just adds to the impression of a media pile on which Senator McCain labelled as "unrelenting and merciless."

Enter Moore again but singing a different song. Now we have a strong, capable Palin who was hindered and hampered by evil advisers-a genius in a cage and etc:

Moore, who plays Sarah Palin in what is reportedly an unflattering portrayal of the one-time vice presidential nominee in the upcoming HBO movie,Game Change, now seems to have sympathy  with her. Look at this  sudden reversal as the prospect of a big financial loss for the producers, and a career knock back for Moore (who the media are ludicrously touting as winning an Emmy for her Palin performance) looms large:
"Moore, who tried to mimic Palin by listening to the audio of her book, “Going Rogue,” and sporting her trademark glasses, says, “I do think the situation that she was put in was a completely untenable one.”
The actress explains that Palin enjoyed an “open relationship” with the media when she was the governor of Alaska, but all that changed when she was tapped by Sen. John McCain to be his running mate.
Palin “was suddenly almost in lockdown, where [she] wasn’t allowed to speak to anybody unless it went through the proper channels. They were telling her what to do and how to dress. And how to behave,” Moore tells the New York Post. “So they take a candidate for what she is and what she represents, and they want to make her into something else.”
The former governor of Alaska’s limited knowledge of international affairs at the time, notes Moore, doesn’t mean she’s not smart.
“People did see that she was not as prepared as they would have liked her to be. And they saw it in the various interviews that we all saw,” says Moore, adding however, “I think she’s very canny… And she’s extremely hardworking and ambitious, and would not have reached the place that she reached without ability. You don’t get to be a vice-presidential candidate by accident.”

If, the HBO movie flops the absolute certain comment from the left will be "Low viewing of Palin movie Game Change shows Palin has lost her relevance" which theme is another leftist attempt to marginalise her. Nobody is, or will be fooled, CPAC showed exactly how relevant Palin is, it is the Hollywood leftists in their mad Palin Derangement Syndrome (PDS) who are irrelevantnt.

Maine Gov. All Candidates Are Damaged Goods-We Need A Dark Horse" :Palin Please End This Disaster

Maine Governor Paul Lepage says the current GOP candidates are "damaged goods" and wants a brokered convention

WASHINGTON — Gov. Paul LePage said Saturday that the current crop of Republican presidential candidates isn't cutting it and that his party needs a "fresh face" to challenge President Obama in the fall.
LePage told reporters at the National Governors Association meeting here that he was hoping for a floor fight at the Republican National Convention in Tampa this summer.
The outspoken Mainer also criticized the state's GOP for how it botched the much-maligned presidential caucuses earlier this month.
Even as Republicans Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum compete for front-runner status with a win in Tuesday's Michigan primary, LePage said the entire field of GOP candidates is damaged goods because they have spent too much time bashing each other.
"I would love to see a good old-fashioned convention and a dark horse come out and do it in the fall," he said.
Read the rest AT THIS LINK

A Dark Horse is an alternative to the establishments "White Knight" it seems.

Gov. Chris  Christie thinks there may be a brokered convention AT THIS LINK but adds it is not likely. Possibly because he has endorsed Romney and is now "willing to listen:" if Romney wants him as VP.

Ann Coulter AT THIS LINK thinks that Jeb Bush  who she advises "woudl be the worst of all candidates" and Palin "going to throw their hat in the ring" hoping to be nominated at a brokered convention whilst she attacks Bush.
On the other hand Jon Huntsman goes the other way and calls for a third party AT THIS LINK as nobody (except him of course) is any good. Go away Jon-ask for your old job back with your old boss President Obama.
Sarah Palin please end this clown show by declaring your candidacy-it is beyond embarrassing and beyond repair  as things stand.

Academy Awards Are A Celebration Of Distorted Leftist Values And Triumphs Over Traditional Values

I wrote this column below last year at the time of the Academy Awards. Nothing has changed sadly and won't until the opportunity for genuine change in November.
**************************************************************

The kids are not all right.

Once again the denizens of Hollywood are using their unique propaganda tool, the Academy Awards, in the aid of their warped social philosophy.

It is a fair assumption, one only has to peruse the cover of  a gossip magazine, that a higher proportion of neurotics, drug users, out and out societal misfits, and the just plain mad who compose a proportion of the entertainment industry in numbers well  above the national average will be gathered together on awards night.

On top of their collective neuroses, and surely actors by their very profession are subject to various manifestations of eccentricity, they have, through the massive reach of their medium, enormous power, wealth and great influence on the average person.

Thus what just a few years ago would have been considered a gross perversion, if not illegal and generally not even possible, same sex couples adopting, or creating via the loving mechanics of a turkey baster, babies.

High profile entertainment industry types, can, through their wealth and media power, undertake actions which if a normal person attempted it they would be castigated or even arrested for breaking societies taboos. Over the years we have seen these structures of society attacked and then broken and then made commonplace by actors.

At one time, not too long ago for a couple, heterosexual that is, gays would have been unthinkable, to live together openly in a sexual relationship would have been impossible, especially if children were involved.

Then major "stars" started doing so, the radical communist Vanessa Redgrave springs to mind as an example.

Shock horror newspaper headlines followed, then the glossies started to make it "interesting' and shortly after it became "normal" irrespective of what example it set for society and the effect it would have on children of such relationships.

Of course such unstable relationships composed of unstable people break up one after another with untold harm on the innocents who are caught up in such horrors.

That aspect of normal society undermined the next attack,Gay and lesbian same sex relationships adopting children hove into view. Again, the unthinkable becomes, via the wealth,"prestige", and power of entertainment types perfectly acceptable to society.

Elton John and partner adopts, how is it possible for men of their age in the first place to adopt an infant? Cynthia Nixon's "fiancee' gives birth amongst recent examples.

There are no long term studies on how children who grow up in these unnatural parenting relationships adjust in society. What sort of difficulties to they encounter at school amongst their peers? Do the have trouble establishing an heterosexual relationship?

What effect will this have on population trends amongst Western nations and if they decline what will be the economic effects and the social effects as more third world labor is needed to take up the slack?

Hollywood doesn't care-all the denizens care about is satisfying their ego's, carnal nature and their hedonism "Cocaine is God's way of telling you you have too much money" Robin Williams is quoted as saying, Lohan, Sheen-well the list of examples is endless. Now having children has become their latest status symbol. It started with the adopting out of Africa craze and now has spread to same sex couples.

There are no barriers to satisfying their needs for those in the entertainment industry. Same sex parenting a no no? The propaganda machine starts. The first foray was The Birdcage with lovable characters, then "The kids are all right" whose premise is " look we lesbian parent couples are not weird, we have all the "normal" family problems and squabbles just like everyone else so our parenting is "normal"-just like everyone else.

Society has accepted that same sex couples can and should they wish live in a relationship protected by law-it is called a civil union. Where the public has had the opportunity to vote on the matter, even in ultra-liberal California, they have rejected same sex "marriage."

Perhaps same sex parenting should also be put to the popular will, which is after all society itself, because if same sex marriage is not acceptable then perhaps same sex parenting which has the potential to inflict much psychic damage, is too important to leave to the propaganda mill that will be on show at the Academy Awards.
